Internationally celebrated for vast high-tide gatherings of waders and the dramatic dawn flights of pink-footed geese over The Wash.

Snettisham is renowned for the movement of birds across the vast mudflats of The Wash. Around particular high tides, waders gather in extraordinary numbers; at other times, the open estuary and lagoons reward quieter observation. Seasonal flights of pink-footed geese are another reason many visitors return. The experience depends on tide and time of year, so use the RSPB’s current guidance to plan a visit and allow enough time to reach the viewing areas without disturbing wildlife.
